No no no crude rude and I hate the C word. It will be a long time before I spend my money on a JK Rowling book. A tired subject that bores me no end and was never worthy of any literary merit. If I never read another word about adolescent sexual 'awakenings', particularly those of spotty masturbating boys, it will be way too soon. I may one day get hold of a paper copy to make sure all the horrible people get their just desserts, but I can no longer listen to it in the car when I cannot fast forward and have to listen to the foul, depressing distasteful things described in this book. I think Rowling's thought process was "What can I write about that's the complete antithesis of Harry Potter" ? The writing must be good as I always was feeling the need for a hot shower to scrub clean. No likeable characters, no redeeming features for any of the protagonists. This book was so depressing if I had continued listening to it I would have had to go on medication. Why was there no warning re graphic content?

Every great Faith calls on us to manifest love and kindness, so war and the mass violence it causes contravenes the basic teachings of religion and the desires of our Creator.īut war does seem inevitable-after all, we’ve fought wars forever.Īlthough we will never have an accurate body count, historians like Mathew White tell us that the deadliest acts of mass violence between 480 BC and 2002 resulted in the death of approximately 455 million human beings. When we try to solve our issues and difficulties by killing and destroying, we’ve denied our most important spiritual duty as human beings-to love one another. War is the horrible consequence of human anger, human distrust and disastrous human decisions. Of course, in one sense no war “has to be fought.” War is the worst diplomacy fail. By this, could it be reasoned that while the ideal utopia would have no war, it is okay to fight wars as long as they have to be fought? I know Baha’i teachings are against war, but I also know Shoghi Effendi said that the results of the American Civil War could not have been brought about any other way. Are Baha’is pacifists? A reader asked that important question in this unique way: “it is okay to fight wars as long as they have to be fought?” 7/6/2023 0 Comments James riley booksA lot of his books use fantasy elements as well, making them rich and imaginative for his young audience, giving them a whole world to explore.
